
Here Itô Shinsui pays homage to Vincent van Gogh’s painting Wheat Field with a Lark (1887). He zoomed in on one section of the field and emphasized the approaching storm—barely visible in the painted image—by covering the sky with a mixture of grays printed in layers, a technical feat in its own right.
